Thai Yoga Bodywork
Centuries ago, a dynamic bodywork therapy based on yoga and Ayurveda was born in the temples of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga Massage – also called Nuad Boran and widely known as traditional Thai massage – the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body’s energy (“Sen”) lines and pressures points. Now used by today’s top athletes; Thai Massage, like yoga, lengthens the muscle fibres and helps the body regain its flexibility to restore its range of motion. Through stretching, holding and leaning the practitioner’s body weight into various parts of the clients body, clients find their blood circulation, flexibility and posture are greatly improved

What happens during a session?
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. No oils or creams are used.
What can be expected after a session?
Thailand is proud of its name, “the Land of Smiles”. You can expect to feel happy and soothed after your massage. You may well experience an unusual sensation of being both calm and energised, and feel lighter, taller or even ironed out.
You might not feel sleepy, but do allow yourself to drift back to the real world gradually, and – as with all massage – make sure you drink plenty of water afterwards.
I’ve had several sessions of Thai Yoga Massage at Glow Thai Yoga. I have to say it is the most relaxing therapeutic massage I ever had. I was a fairly regular customer of a very good massage therapist, but I feel the Thai Yoga Massage benefits far out weigh a deep tissue or other regular massage. I describe it as having someone do yoga to you, while getting a massage that hits all the acupressure points. Nancy’s professional friendly manner makes you feel relaxed as soon as you enter her studio.
A friend was visiting last month and went for a couple of sessions and is totally hooked. A few years ago she had most of the bones in her body broken in a car accident. She couldn’t believe the relief she felt after each session.
I’d put this high on a list of things to do in TCI.
I arrived in Provo in October with what best could be described as shoulder/neck strain (probably from an overweight backpack). For 2 months, I tried stretches and swimming, but experienced no real or lasting relief. I went to Nancy for 2 sessions and have not had any pain since! Nancy is professional and courteous, but most of all, effective!!! The best way I could describe her massage is to say is reminds me of acupressure. She not only focused on the site of my discomfort, but also focused on other pressure points. I could not be happier or recommend her highly enough! This is not your “typical” massage…or at least not like any I have experienced before. I would say that it was more therapeutic and have recommended her to many friends.
I had a session with Nancy last week and it was wonderful. I will be going back next week and I am also scheduling a session for my husband. Nancy makes the experience relaxing and comfortable and it really helped my aches and pains go away. I would recommend Thai yoga to anyone visiting TCI or anyone who lives here and has a stressful and busy life. It is a great experience with a talented professional!
